Dare To Be Sassy Thursday - 167 Going Green

Hi Everyone

Today is my first post as Guest Designer over at Sassy Studio Designs for 'Dare To Be Sassy Thursday'.  This weeks challenge (167) is "Going Green" - use something recycled on your project.  I must admit that I scratched my head a little at first - I recycle a lot in my house, but in my craft room not so much (shame on me!)  Then I remembered this.

I had given this L'Occitane box to my husband for Christmas, and it was just too pretty to throw away (am I right?)  I tend to do this with a lot of pretty bags and boxes.

I took a look through my Sassy Studio Designs images and choose Russia Honey, she is part of the Small World Collection - I thought she would just be perfect for this job.  Here she is all coloured with ProMarkers adorning the top of the box.

And a closer look at her, her hat and hand-warmer are covered in Tim Holtz Distress Stickles 'Picket Fence' to add a little bit of sparkle.

The flowers that you see are cut with the Silhouette Cameo and are a file from the Silhouette online store, I used them on top of the box and on the sides of the box with the gold pleated ribbon that I found in my stash.

Well, that is my project for today.  This challenge has certainly inspired me to recycle a bit more in my craft room - I hope it has inspired you too, and maybe you will join the challenge over at Sassy Studios and check out all the beautiful creations from the design team.

  1. A gorgeous box Michelle. Far too pretty to throw out and now even prettier thanks to you. The image and flowers are wonderful and the pleated ribbon is the perfect finishing touch x

  2. Michelle, this is lovely. To right that box was way to nice to throw out. You matched the image really well. I am terrible to recycling things lol.

    Happy Crafting

  3. Beautiful!! I just love how you've added to the gorgeousness of the box! I especially love your coloring and those flowers. So happy to have you as our guest designer!

  4. This is gorgeous Michelle! Love that image and you've coloured her so beautifully. Really fab project.

  5. Wowzer - this is a gorgeous box. Love the image and fab colours.

    Hugs, Mette

  6. Hi Michelle, a fabulous project, and what a great use of a L'occitane box, they are so sturdy and need to be reused.
