Winter Snowflake Tag - A Scrap N Place

Hi Everyone

I am here today with my last post for December for A Scrap N Place.  I know that Christmas is behind us, but I for one am not ready to put away my Christmassy crafting supplies - and I so I am not going to.  I decided to use the Impression Obsession Snowflake die to make this little tag.

Snowflakes aren't just for Christmas, and this little tag would look so cute on a gift for any occasion during the winter season.  So I challenge you to keep those 'Christmas' supplies out a while longer and see what you can come up with for the winter season.

Supplies used (all available at A Scrap N Place):

  • Impression Obsession Snowflake Die 024-X
  • Kraft Paper
  • 'Pearl'
  • Ribbon
  • Lace

Not Your Momma's Apple Pie!

Hi Everyone

Today Sassy Studios is sponsoring 2 challenges: Hobbycutz (theme 'Celebration) and Glitter n Sparkle (theme - "Non traditional Christmas Colours').  The card that I made is a little something to go along with a gift that I made for my neighbors - Apple Pie Moonshine.

This image is Sweet as Holiday Pie Sassy from the last release - I just knew I had to use this image with my gift!  The background paper is a file from the Silhouette online store, and the image is coloured with ProMarkers.  I finished her off with some 'pearls' for her jewelry and the sentiment is created with Silhouette sketch pens.

Here is also a peek at the Apple Pie Moonshine.

I can certainly vouch for the fact that this truly "aint your momma's apple pie" - but it is scrummy and very strong!

Thanks for stopping by today.  This will be my last post before Christmas, so I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season whatever you do and however you celebrate.

Special Friend - Creative Fingers

Hi Everyone

Time for another challenge over at Creative Fingers - as always the theme is 'Anything Goes' with the optional twist 'Special Friend'.  The week our sponsor is The Stamping Chef - you really need to take a peek at Tamara's store, she has some super fun and 'smexy' images.

For my card I used the image Winter Wishes, and I also decided to play with more of my washi tape like I did with this card here.

I covered a piece of white card stock with washi tape, and then cut it with the SU 'Top Note' die.  My image is printed on the Cameo and then coloured with ProMarkers.

I decorated the 'fur' trim on her outfit with Tulip Puffy paint, the bow is a die from memory box finished with some red gems, and the sentiment is from an old SU set called 'Circle of Friendship'.

Here is a look at the inside of the card, I used the negative from the cut out to frame my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you will come and join us over at Creative Fingers and check out the projects by the rest of the DT.

Hi Everyone

I am guest designer today over at A Scrap N Place, and I am excited to show you my card using the Pine Cone Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I knew as soon as I picked this die up that I was going to love it, I just think that the pine cones look so detailed.

Here is a list of supplies I used:

  • Authentique paper "Scatter Joy"
  • Mesh Ribbon
  • Pine Cone Die - Elizabeth Craft Designs 766  (to get the two-tone effect I rubbed Versamark ink over one of the pine cone layers.)
  • Leaves - Cheery Lynn Designs Wreath Strip Die
  • 'Snow' Stickles
  • Sentiment Anna Griffin (very old Christmas set)
Thanks Terri for having me again as guest designer, and thanks everyone for stopping by today.  Until next time.

'Tis The Season Pop-Up Card - A Scrap N Place

Hi Everyone

Today I am guest designer over at A Scrap n Place, as always I would like to thank Terri for inviting me.  Today's card is made using a file from the Silhouette online store.

It looks quite cute from the outside, but the 'magic' happens when you open it up.

Here is a list of supplies I used:

Authentique Paper - "Scatter Joy"
Pop-Up Card  and Sentiment (Silhouette file from online store.)
Clear Star Gel Pen (to outline sentiment)
Snowflake Die (Impression Obsession 024-X)
Red Gem

I know that not everyone has access to a Silhouette Cameo machine, so there is a tutorial here that shows you step-by-step instructions on how to make a pop-up card.

Thanks for stopping by today - see you next time.

Cookies for you, and me, and Santa, and....

Hi Everyone

Today I have a project that is doing TRIPLE duty.  Sassy Studios is sponsoring three challenges: Crafting by Design (White on White), Crafting With Dragonflies (Christmas Tags) and Creative Moments (Winter Wonderland).

My image is Waiting For Santa Sassy from our last release - how cute is she in that onesie?  I ran the white cardstock through a snowflake embossing folder, and used a MS snowflake punch to add snowflakes covered in stickles.  The sentiment is created using my Cameo and the metallic Silhouette sketch pens, then I popped them up on dimensionals.  The glittery trim is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to check out Sassy Studios, and see what the other members of the DT have come up with.

Until next time.

Merry and VERY Bright

Hi Everyone

Today Sassy Studios is sponsoring the challenge over at Just Inspirational - 'Use Washi/Fabric Tape'.  I bought myself some washi tape a while back, and I used it on some card projects here - but then I put it in the drawer and forgot about it.

There are so many fun ways to use washi tape, that when I go in search of ideas, I quickly become overwhelmed.  But I persevered, and searched "using washi as a background" - very quickly I had my card base.

I choose my half dozen or so washi tapes, and then stuck them on four squares measuring 2.5 x 2.5 inches.  I arranged the squares on my black card base, and voila a bright and colourful backround.  The image I used is Candy Cane the Sassy Elf, one of the images from our latest release.

I don't usually play with a lot of bright colours, certainly not this combination - but I loved the way this turned out.

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  See you next time.

'Wobbling' Snow Buddy - Love to Create

Hi Everyone

Time for a new challenge over at Love To Create , "White On White with a Splash of Green".  Our sponsors this week are Sassy Studios and Fresh Brewed Designs.

I have made a very simple card with this cute Snow Buddy image called Cookies and Milk For Santa.

I used my Cameo to print n cut the image then coloured it with ProMarkers, the backround is embossed with a 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder, then I added a little Tulip 'Puffy' Paint to trim his hat and gloves.  Like I said this is a really simple card, and easy to produce a lot of very quickly (and who doesn't need quick and easy this time of year?)  But.... to make this card a little more fun, I added an Action Wobble Spring - check out the video.

Come on over and join us for the challenge at Love To Create - we love visiting your blogs and seeing all your creations.

Until next time.

Goddess Challenge - Simply Betty Stamps and The Stamping Chef

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing two cards that were made possible by two very generous ladies - Betty from Simply Betty Stamps, and Tamara from The Stamping Chef.  Once again these two artists got together to run a challenge using two brand new digis, which they only charged $1.00 each for.  Thank you both so very much.

Here is my first card using Betty's creation Persephone.

My image is coloured with ProMarkers, the sentiment is computer generated and all card stock is from DCWV.

Here is how I finished off the inside of the card.

My second card uses Nile Goddess by Tamara.

This card is very similar to the last one - I just changed the colour of the card stock (red and gold on this one as opposed to pink and silver on the last) but it is the same DCWV stack.  I also mixed up the layout of this one too.

And here is a look at the sentiment inside.

I really had so much fun playing with these images, I hope you get a chance to take a peek over at the Goddess Challenge and see some of the amazing creations.

I finished these two cards off with matching envelopes.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Easel Card - Creative Fingers

Hi Everyone

Time for a new challenge over at Creative Fingers - Anything Goes with the optional twist of an  'Easel Card'.  This week our super sponsor is Beccy's Place.  I decide to make a slightly different shape for my card, this is a file from the Silhouette online store and there are great directions here for making your own.

The image I used is called 'Snowmen Trio' - not much to color here, and so I decided to keep the colour scheme for this card fairly simple.  The paper I have used is from 'Me and My Big Ideas' Christmas stack from several years ago.

I did a little bit of paper piecing on the musical score that the middle snowman is holding.

The sheer ribbon I used is from my stash, and the sentiment is created using my Silhouette Cameo and sketch pens.

Here is a look at the card from the side.

And just because I had extra paper left over I finished it off with a matching envelope.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

  1. Divas By Design - Feeling Festive
  2. Paper Crafting Journey - Christmas Time
  3. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Christmas

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please check out the rest of the creations by the DT and join us for our challenge over at Creative Fingers.

White on White Snowflake Card - A Scrap N Place

Hi Everyone

Today I am guest designer over a A Scrap N Place, as always I want to thank Terri for allowing me to 'play' in her space.  My card is a very simple one, but in my opinion it is very elegant - I love white on white.

Here is a list of the supplies used:

Impression Obsession Snowflake Die 024-X
Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder
Plain White card stock
White glitter card stock
Dimensional Pop-Dots
Gem
For the sentiment I used a stamp from an old Stampin' Up set, and the Stampin' Up Word Window punch.

I hope you will take a look over at A Scrap N Place blog and see all the great projects by the rest of the DT.

Thanks for stopping by - see you next time.

Chocolate Kisses Candy Bar Wrappers - Love To Create

Hi Everyone

Time for a new challenge over at Love To Create.  This week we are being sponsored by QKR Stampede and Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne - our challenge this week is to make a 3D project.  For my project I used this cute image Chocolate Kisses.

In my house preparations for Christmas are in full swing.  One of the gift project I decided on this year was to make bark and candy bars - I knew this bear was just perfect to put on the wrappers.

I used the print n cut feature on my Cameo to cut out the bears and then coloured them with ProMarkers.  I have coloured extra images so that  I can put them on to more candy wrappers - my next wrappers will be personalized with the recipients name, but I have yet to decide on what flavors the bark will be...decisions, decisions.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will pop over to Love To Create to see all the DT's great projects and join us for the challenge.

Until next time.

Sassy Studios Christmas Release - Silver and Gold Blog Hop

Hi Everyone

Welcome to......

You should have arrived here from Greg's blog, but if this is your first stop you will certainly want to start at the beginning from Sassy Studio because you won't want to miss anything.  Lindsay always comes up with fabulous images for our releases and this one is no exception - such cute images will certainly get you in the Christmas Spirit.

My project is made using 'Don't Open 'Til Christmas Sassy'.

In the photo it looks like a kraft cardstock bag, but it is in fact gold. I used my Cameo to 'print n cut' the image, then coloured her with ProMarkers. The snowflake dies are from Impression Obsession and Memory Box, finished off with some purple gems.  Here is a closer look.

I finished off the bag with a little bit of a 'sassy' sentiment - WARNING : If you blush easily don't look.

The sentiment is computer generated using 'Comic Slapstick' font.  I hope I have inspired you with my project and that you will join us for the challenge with a project of your own.

Here is a complete list of all the stops along your way, like I said you won't want to miss any.  Be sure to leave some love for all the designers for a chance to win some of these cute images for your own.

Blog order:

Enjoy the hop.

All Things Pretty Vintage Suitcase - Creative Fingers

Hi Everyone

Today we have a new challenge over at Creative Fingers, and our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe.  I was so lucky to be able to get to play with their Vintage Suitcase Box (the file formats include PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC) - it really is beautiful.  This is not a project that you can put together in 5 minutes, but it is so worth taking your time over this (and there is a step by step video here) - you really end up with something that everyone will 'drool' over.

Here is my finished suitcase.

The papers I used for this are from K&Co called 'Julianne' and kraft card stock.  As you can see I also got out my sewing machine and a Martha Stewart punch to add a little decoration to the trim.

Those little green brad 'buttons' I have had in my stash for ages, and I just loved adding them for a little extra detail.

This box is actually going to be a Christmas gift for my mum - I have filled it with handmade cards for various occasions so that she has her own supply to use throughout the year.

Thanks so much for joining me today - I hope you will join in with the 'Anything Goes' challenge over at Creative Fingers and check out the rest of the projects from the DT.
