Hi All,

Today I have a card that I made specifically to enter a couple of challenges. The first challenge is here at Passion for ProMarkers, the theme being 'in the garden' (you have to include something you would find in your garden.)  The second challenge is from Saturated Canary Blog, to make a shaped card using either Saturated Canary stamps (or digis) or Simply Sassy stamps.  I hope my card fits the bill for both.

For this card I used a Saturated Canary digi image, I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo (this is so useful when you want to cut an image to a specific size and shape.)  She is coloured with the following ProMarkers.

Skin - Blush and Soft Peach (my fave combo)

Eyes - Cocoa

Hair - Cool Grey 1-5 and blender for highlights

Lips - Lipstick Red (highlight with white Signo pen)

Clothes - Poppy 

The shaped card is from the Cameo online store, as are the 3D roses, the paper used was a gift from my friend in the UK (sorry I have no details,) and the sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  Here is a look at the inside.

'Sweet Mates' deserve something sweet...

Hi Everyone

As I have mentioned before both my daughter are away at university - the youngest is fairly close by (about 40 minutes away.)  She has had a few trials during her freshman and now her sophomore year - which include  (but not limited to) a trip to the emergency room and most recently her car getting broken into.  Each time there has been an 'incident' the girls who she shares living accommodation with (her 'suite-mates') have been there to help her through.

Each of the 3 girls has recently had a birthday, and so I decided that I would send each of these girls a little gift to let them know we appreciate what "Sweet Mates" they are to Phoebe.

These are little note folders, with note paper, pen and a little pocket inside.  All the images on the front covers are from Saturated Canary and are coloured with Letraset ProMarkers.

I had so much fun choosing papers and colouring these images.  Here is a look at what is inside.

Of course I had to make Phoebe one of these as well.  (The image I coloured is extremely appropriate considering the trip to the emergency room was after roller skating - round the lake - with no safety equipment on!!!!)

A Trio of Canister Boxes

Hi Everyone

Today I have a very cute project, a canister box designed by Kelleigh Ratzlaff over at The Digichick.

There are just 2 pieces to this box, the body and the bottom - how easy is that?  Kelleigh has a great tutorial here, which I would really recommend taking a look at.  The boxes are super simple to put together, but folding the top down and getting it to look right can be a bit tricky - the first time I did it I folded 'petals' on the inside.

Here is a closer look at each box.

The paper I used is by Teresa Collins, and is from a line called 'Everyday Moments'.  If you have ever used Teresa Collins paper before you will know how thick and sturdy it is - great for making these boxes.  It is also double sided, here is a look at the box open so you can see the other side of the paper.

And a close look at the top of the box - so pretty.

Of course I had to finish the boxes off with a little tag using one of my favorite images from Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary called 'Boobie Love' (which is currently free in her shop.)

Halloween Cutie Card

Hi Everyone.  Today I am guest designer over at The Bugbytes, and thought that it would be a great opportunity to make a Halloween card.

I have had this cute little image for ages, and I just love her.  The image is called 'Perfect Poison' and is available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  She is coloured with Letraset ProMarkers, and the colours used are as follows:

Blush, Soft Peach (skin)
Vanilla, Sandstone, Pale Yellow & Mustard (hair)
Purple & Apple (clothes)
Ice Grey 1 - 5 (shadows and bottle)

The great thing about making this card is that everything came from my stash (love it when that happens).  The wording strip on the side comes from a DCWV stack from a couple of years ago, I also used a piece to decorate the inside.

Here is a closer look at some of the details.

The spiders web was cut with my Cameo using a file from the Silhouette online store, the background paper was run through an embossing folder from Hobby Lobby, and the purple gems are supposed to be for decorating cell phones - found them on clearance in the dollar store.

I made the card 5" x 5" as I have some vellum envelopes that are about this size.  The trouble with using vellum for me is that I don't always want the recipient to see what is inside before they open the envelope.  So I used another piece of paper from the same stack to combat this.  I quite often find from some DCWV stacks that I have papers left with the larger images on that I don't always know what to do with - I have discovered that they are great for the inside of cards, or to line envelopes like this.

Plenty of space on this to put an address label and stamp without being too distracting for the mailman.

Pinkalicious!

Before too much of October disappears I wanted to take time to remember that it is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  My daughter and I were talking the other day about this and how many women we knew who have fought breast cancer.  Sadly it was too many, but happily most of these women are survivors.

These are a couple of cards I made celebrating them and their victory.

I hope this little post will serve as a little reminder ladies that you need to take care of you - go make an appointment for a check-up with the doctor or schedule your yearly mammogram.

Scary Sweet Shops

Hi Everyone

Today Kelleigh over at The Digi Chick has a new file available called "Soap Box."  When I saw it I started to think of how cute it would look as a Sweet Shop with squares cut in for windows so you could see the candy inside.  Here is what I did.

The papers that I used are from a very old DCWV Halloween stack, with some glitter paper (Target $1.00) and some spooky shapes from the online silhouette store.

As I said the files do not come with the windows cut in them, but they are very easy to add with the Silhouette Design Studio (I am already thinking ahead to cutting out hearts for Valentines Day.)

To make it a little more fun the ghost is on an action wobble spring (haven't played with those in ages - so much fun!)

Love the cat and his scary green eyes.

And lastly this one...(the bat is also on an action wobble spring.)

All the lettering was cut out of some scraps of black vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo, the font used is 'Harry Potter'.  Other items used: action wobble springs, googly eyes, acetate (for windows) and ribbon (Target $1.00 section).

Hourglass Butterfly Box and Card

Hi All,

Got back from my weekend in San Francisco only to find that a couple of posts I had planed while I was away didn't actually go 'live' (I guess it helps if you hit the 'Publish' button instead of 'Save'!!!)  So now I am playing a little bit of catch up.

Today's project is an hourglass box by Kelleigh over at The Digichick.  It is such a pretty little box, and when I found this...

a Martha Stewart pad for only $3.00 at Marshalls - I knew just what to do with it.

As with all Kelleigh's files they are super easy to put together, with the addition of some ribbon and a little embellishment they look like you've spent ages over them.

The beautiful butterfly you see adorning this box I cannot take credit for, it was made by my friend Pam over at Papillon Digital Designs, it really is beautiful - thank you so much Pam.  Here is a closer look.

I also wanted to added a card to go along with this box and was thinking along the lines of wedding, but I feel that it would suit Mother's Day or a female birthday equally well.

This image is from my favourite place to get digital images Saturated Canary (Krista's images are adorable, you should check them out.)  I coloured the image with ProMarkers, added some stickles, silver gems and a doily - here's a closer look at the details.
