Olive You

So this is my third and final Valentines Day card.  When I saw this file on Silhouettes online store it was yet another one I 'had to have'.

I just love how simple this card is, and the Cameo cut it beautifully (yes I am still in love with this machine.)  All the papers used for the 'olive' are from my scraps, and the main part of the card is cut from brown cardstock from "The Silky Smooth Stack" (DCWV) - you really  do need to feel how 'silky' this cardstock is, it's amazing.  I used some dimensional squares to make the olive pop-up, and lined the back of the sentiment with the same red cardstock.

This file also has a matching envelope and printed paper, so I just had to use that as well didn't I?

Buxom Ladies - Treat Boxes

This is just a quick post to show you the treat holders I made for my daughter and her friends when we took them out to dinner last week.

The file comes from The DigiChick and is actually a 'Heart Cup' designed by Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  I knew when I saw them that they would be great to be transformed into 'Buxom Ladies' (maybe that's why my friends call me the smut queen.)

These came together so quickly, I used some scraps from The Blackcurrant Stack (DCWV), some buttons and lace from my stash - that's it.

Phoebe and her friends got a big 'kick' out of them.  Now my mind is racing with ideas for how fun these would be for a bachelorette party or bridal shower with white ribbons and lace to make a corset.  What fun!

Use your Stash - Color You Own Bling

Today I am guest designer over at Paper Craft Weekend Challenge - thank you Allison and Caroline for inviting me to play.

We've all got them, probably lots of them, because when we buy them, they usually come it big packs!  The 'them' I am referring to are gems - the clear type.  Mini round gems and faceted gems, I have a whole bunch.  But you don't always want clear ones for your project, so how about coloring them for yourself using alcohol inks?

All you need are the gems, some alcohol inks, paper towel and a little patience.

Take the gems and lay them on a piece of kitchen towel (use a craft mat or something else underneath to protect your work surface.)  Then take you alcohol ink and drop a small amount on the gem - you only need a very small amount, the ink will spread over your gem.

It really is as simple as that.  Now this is where the patience kicks in, as you have to wait for the gems to dry before using them on your project.

Rollergirls Rule - Birthday Card

My youngest daughter for the last year has become involved in Roller Derby, joining the junior league of the Denver Roller Dolls.  A few weeks ago she tried out for the adult league, and made it!  This is very exciting and scary all at the same time - I don't know how I'm going to handle seeing 'my baby' getting pushed around!  I knew immediately the kind of birthday card that I wanted to make for her.

Although this is a pretty simple card, it took me ages to make.  Why?  Because I must have spent a couple of hours trolling the Internet for a suitable svg file or image that I could trace - some of those images were not really suitable to put on my daughters card if you know what I mean :)  I almost gave up and decided to go with a different theme, but then I checked the images on the Silhouette online store and found this.

  

This was definitely more the kind of image that I was looking for.  The Cameo cut this out beautifully, and considering the intricate cuts on the 'fishnets' there were only a couple of places that I had to 'poke' pieces out.

I really hope she likes it.  Happy Birthday "Shebe Dangerous".

Holey Cow!

Wanted to share this project with you all - a cute milk carton file available here at The DigiChick.  As soon as I saw this I knew what I needed it for.

My daughters both love "Cow Tales" candy, I usually buy the mini ones for them, and thought that these boxes would be a great way to present them.

Here is a close-up of the "Holey Cow" - you can take a peek inside and see the candy.

The cow is a file from Silhouette,  I used a 1" circle punch to cut out the hole and backed this with acetate.  I altered the milk carton file with a hole on each side to allow you to peek in.

The finishing touch for this is the ribbon and cow bell (both from Hobby Lobby.)

I 'Wuff' You Card

A quick post today of a simple card inspired by Allison and her card sketch over on Paper Craft Weekend Challenge.  The challenge was to use a stamp or printed image on your card.  This is what I came up with.

This stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamps - they have some really cute images.  I coloured the images with ProMarkers (sorry Allison I haven't got any crayolas.)  The base of the card is cut from the new Silky Stack (DCWV), the heart paper is from Studio G (Walmart), the ribbon and brads are from my stash and I think originally bought from Hobby Lobby.

The sentiment inside simply says.

Underwear Mishap Inspiration

It really is strange sometimes where my inspiration comes from.  My project today is a typical example of this.  A couple of weeks ago I bought some gift bags at the store that I wanted to duplicate.  I forgot all about them until a friend related a story of her 'underwear mishap' involving a new bra 'fastener' (that didn't), and the delivery man (who arrived when he shouldn't) - not going into details, let's just say blushes all round.

I just took a plain Kraft gift bag, and cut off the handles, then embellished it with some double-sided paper (K & Co I believe), some ribbons (to replace the string handles), lace and buttons.  The corset beneath is a file from Silhouette.

Thought that this was a cute way to add a feminine touch to an otherwise pretty boring gift bag.
