Quick Birthday Card

I never have enough birthday cards in my stash, for those birthdays/occasions that just seem to pop up.  So today I am sharing with you a quick card I made for Cameo Creations Challenge #4 over here on Monica's Creative Madness.  The challenge is to create a square card using a digital stamp and buttons.  Here it is.

The image is from Digi My World, and I used the print and cut feature of the cameo for it - Monica has a great video tutorial on her blog showing the technique I used.

I used a couple of buttons, one on the balloon and one in her hair.

In the bottom right-hand corner is a journalling tag that I had in my stash, all I have to do is highlight the day and month - voila, a personalized card.

Thanks for stopping by today, and thank you Monica for the great challenge.

Queen for the Day Birthday Card

Just a quick post today for a fairly simple card that I made yesterday.  One of the main reasons for me buying the Silhouette Cameo is that I wanted to use the "Print and Cut" feature.  Despite having the machine since before Christmas this is the first time I have really played with this feature - here is my card.

This image comes from Digi My World, and is called Tiffany Chibi Birthday Girl.  I downloaded the files, (they come in JPEG and PNG), and imported them into my Silhouette Designer Studio.  My next step was to trace the image, fill it with various colours and then send it to the printer.  Once the image was printed I put it on the mat and loaded it into the Cameo to cut.  There are some great tutorials on how to do this on YouTube.

The real "wow" factor of this card however lies on the inside.

This is a file from Silhouette online store, and as soon as I saw it I just knew I had to have it. I think it just finishes off the card perfectly.

On a side note, a few of my 'friends', (I use the term loosely), suggested I replace the words with "Smut Queen" - I don't know why.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hoppy Christmas

Wow, I have neglected my poor little blog for almost two weeks (shame on me.)  In my defense I have been busy shopping, decorating, cleaning the house and getting ready for my mum to come and visit from the UK.  Well, no more excuses, and no more putting off making some Christmas cards.

Here are some cards that I have made for some crafting pals here in Colorado, our CCC group (affectionately nicknamed by my husband as the "Colorado Crafting Coven".)

This style of card is called a Petal Card.  There is a great tutorial for it over on Splitcoast Stampers - there are step-by-step instructions as well as a video tutorial.  The video shows the base of the card being cut with nestabilities, but I used scalloped circles cut on my Expression at 3 1/2".  The patterned paper, and glitter card stock is from J's (all from the dollar bin!)  The frog is from a Lettering Delights file, and cut with my new Silhouette Cameo (which I love) using the print and cut option.

The scallop circle that the frog is on is 2", the frog itself measures about 1 3/4" and the Cameo cuts it with ease.  Here is a close-up.

This is what the card looks like when you remove the belly band and take a peek inside.

This was such a fun card to make, and goes together so quickly.  I really hope that my friends like it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog.  I hope you'll come back soon to see my next cards, which I used ProMarkers for (another product I have fallen in love with.)  I'm using this for the holiday challenge that Allison has set over at Paper Craft Weekend Challenge.  Until next time....
