Moving In, Moving On - Digital Layouts (and something extra)

I thought that it was about time that I dabbled with digital layouts again, and Kelleigh Ratzlaff over at The Digi Chick gave me a great excuse by releasing some fun new digital paper packs called Summer Lovin'.  Just take a peek at the cute Patterned Papers and the adorable Mini Polka Dot Papers.  Also check out Kelleigh's Facebook Page, become a fan and get the Solids Paper Pack for free, (she is also giving away a free printable Father's Day Card and a layered psd card template.)

I decided to make LO's of my youngest daughter going off to university.  I can't believe she has already finished her freshman year and I have only just scrapped the photos of the day she moved into her dorm!

Here is the second one.

These are both pretty simple LO's using papers from the Summer Lovin' pack and a couple of free templates designed by Jen Martakis available over at Two peas In A Bucket.

I love all the papers in this set, so decided to have a go at using the print and cut feature on my Cameo to make 'something else'.  Just got this stamp from Archivers, and with Father's Day so close, I knew my husband would be the perfect recipient of this card.

Love the way this turned out.  The image is from Art Impressions 'Lazy Boy', coloured with ProMarkers - and I just had to mount him on an Action Wobble Spring.  The sentiment inside the card reads "Recliner, remote,TV tray...there's a "nap" for that."

Then & Now - Digital LO

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, (insert embarrassed face here) - things have been quite hectic.  Last week I was having floors refinished so had to move into a hotel for a few days.  Not quite as luxurious as it sounds, especially as I was sharing with my 18 year old and my dog (my husband picked a good time to go out of town on business.)  All I can say this thank goodness for screw-top wine bottles (I forgot to take a corkscrew!) red solo cups and take-out.

Well, I'm back home now (house is still a mess,) and I thought that it was about time I posted on my poor neglected blog.  As I said in a previous post I am starting to dabble in the digital world, and much to my surprise I love it.  I have been taking an online class at http://www.jessicasprague.com/ called 'Up and Running with Photoshop'.  It is so much fun, and so easy to follow.  Here is one of the layouts I made.

This really was fairly simple to do, this page is part of the course materials you can download so all I had to do was add photos, journalling and some dates.

I can't wait to do more lessons and learn more stuff.  I am already drooling over some digital paper packs that are available online.

Dabbling with digital

Inspired by my friend Sabrina over on Sabriolet Designs, I decided to dabble with some digital scrap booking.  She has done a couple of digital pages, and put some digital elements on other layouts and they look great.  I am not quite as brave as her, so I opted to use a 'quickpage'.  With quickpages all the hard work is already done for you, all you have to do is add photos and some journaling.

I have Photoshop, so all I needed were simple step by step instructions - these I found at Jessica Spragues website.  She offers a free class, with all the digital materials you need to complete a page.  I think the class is about 15 minutes long and is super easy to follow along with.  Here is my page.

I am so very happy with the way that it turned out.  I can't wait to try another quick page - may be eventually I will be brave enough to try designing my own layouts.
