If Friends Were Flowers (Simply Betty Fan Page Challenge)

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post today for a project that almost wasn't!  Over at Simply Betty Stamps there is a Fan Page Challenge, where Betty creates 2-3 different digis, which you can buy a a greatly reduced price in order to join in with the challenge.  I must admit that I have been so busy lately that I almost forgot to make my project, but last night (with over 24 hours of the challenge time left) I went to my craft room to print and colour my images.  It was quite late, so I decided to finish my project in the morning. Today, eager to get to work, I took my breakfast juice into the craft room and promptly spilled it all over my images!    Not to be deterred (and because I had a cute card in mind) I set to work all over again.  Here is the result.

I am really pleased with how this turned out.  I used my Cameo to print the images (in PNG form) on to a background paper from the Silhouette store, and then coloured them with ProMarkers.  The dies (used for the swirly vine and to make the roses) are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Here are a few close-ups.

So I think the lessons learnt from this project are - don't leave a project until last minute and don't take juice into your craft room!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you next time.

Happy Birthday Betty (LTC)

Hi Everyone

Today we have a new and very special challenge over at Love To Create - the challenge is called 'Happy Birthday' and is to celebrate the 4th birthday of Simply Betty Stamps.  Thank you so much Betty for sponsoring us this week.

Here is my project using one of Betty's new images 'Pinata Betty'.

I played about with this image a little, and decided to hang the pinata from a branch instead of having her hold it - I was going to mount it on an Action Wobble Spring, but that didn't quite work out :(

I used my Cameo to print n cut the image, and then coloured her with ProMarkers.  The branch is a die from Memory Box.  Here is a closer look.

The sentiment is a stamp from a SU set called 'Alphabet Soup'.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will check out all the great projects at both Love To Create and Simply Betty Stamps -  and join in the challenge too!

Shiver Me Timbers - SBS FaceBook Fan Page Challenge

Hi Everyone

I finally finished my card for the Simply Betty Stamps March Fan Page Challenge.  I have had these little images cut out and printed for sometime, and was scratching my head a as to how to put them into a project.  Here is what I did (there are a few photos, and please don't forget to check the video at the end.)

Here is the outside of the card, and where I added my twine (part of the challenge requirement.)

Open it up to reveal three sassy pirates.

Here is a close up of each one.

The background map is from a Silhouette online file, each of the images I printed and cut with my Cameo and then coloured with ProMarkers.  Then just for a bit of fun I added an action wobble spring to each of them, take a look at them 'move' in the video (I think they all look like they've been knocking back the rum!)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project today.  See you next time.

Simply Betty Stamps January Fan Page Challenge Part 3 - Elisabete

Hi Everyone

Today I have my final card for Simply Betty Stamps January Fan Page Challenge using the image 'Cupid Elisabete'.  The challenge is to use 'Ribbon, Red/Pink Flowers.'

The paper I used for this card is called 'Lucky In Love' by My Mind's Eye - and so this dictated the colour scheme for the image - somewhat non-traditional, but I really like it.  I added a swirly bow from a die by Memory Box, and the flowers are made using a die by Elizabeth Crafts.

So  there you have my final card - I really did have a blast colouring these images.  Thank you so much Betty for creating these fun 'Cupids', I can't wait to see what you come up with next month.

Thanks for stopping by today.  See you next time.

Simply Betty Stamps January Fan Page Challenge Part 2 - Corinne

Hi Everyone

Here is my second card for the Simply Betty January Fan Page Challenge.  This image is 'Cupid Corinne'.  The challenge for this image is 'Use Red/Pink/White and lots of hearts'.  This time I chose to make a shadow box card using a file from the Silhouette online store.

The image is coloured with ProMarkers, and again I added clear glitter with the Wink of Stella pen (may be one day I will learn how to capture it in my photos.)  The paper I bought a few years ago from Target in their $1.00 packs.

I used a Memory Box die to cut out the hearts on a bow, and the Cameo to cut the 3 hearts on the lower left hand side.

Thanks for dropping in and checking out my project - next week I will have the final card using 'Cupid Elisabete'.  Until next time.

Simply Betty Stamps January Fan Page Challenge Part 1 - Betty

Hi Everyone

Today I have the first of 3 cards that I have made for the Simply Betty Stamps January Fan Page Challenge.  For this challenge Betty created 3 super cute Valentine images, which are all initially available at a discounted price - who can resist?

The first image is 'Cupid Betty' and the challenge is to use 'Black/White and a touch of Red or Pink on your image.  Paper-wise anything goes.'  So here is my project.

I used my Cameo to print and cut the image, and then coloured her with ProMarkers - I also used the clear Wink of Stella pens to add a touch of glitter to her dress and wings, which doesn't show up too well in the photo.

How cute is the sentiment?  Betty also includes a sentiment with each of these images.

I had so much fun colouring these images, I hope you will check back next week for what I did with the second image 'Cupid Corinne'.  Until next time.

Goddess Challenge - Simply Betty Stamps and The Stamping Chef

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing two cards that were made possible by two very generous ladies - Betty from Simply Betty Stamps, and Tamara from The Stamping Chef.  Once again these two artists got together to run a challenge using two brand new digis, which they only charged $1.00 each for.  Thank you both so very much.

Here is my first card using Betty's creation Persephone.

My image is coloured with ProMarkers, the sentiment is computer generated and all card stock is from DCWV.

Here is how I finished off the inside of the card.

My second card uses Nile Goddess by Tamara.

This card is very similar to the last one - I just changed the colour of the card stock (red and gold on this one as opposed to pink and silver on the last) but it is the same DCWV stack.  I also mixed up the layout of this one too.

And here is a look at the sentiment inside.

I really had so much fun playing with these images, I hope you get a chance to take a peek over at the Goddess Challenge and see some of the amazing creations.

I finished these two cards off with matching envelopes.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Right on Target for Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone

First off I would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving - hope that you all have very special and memorable days whatever you are doing.

Today I have a card for the Simply Betty Stamps November Fan Page Challenge - and I have just made it by the skin of my teeth!  Betty created two really cute images for us, and I chose to play with this one Pilgrim Corinne, isn't this image just too funny?

I printed this all out using my Silhouette Cameo and coloured the image with ProMarkers.  The sentiment is made using the Silhouette sketch pens and a Lettering Delights font called 'Printed', the finishing touch is a little card candi coloured with the ProMarkers to match Corinne's outfit.

Thank you once again Betty for your generosity with these images, and thanks everyone for stopping by today.

Come Gaze Into My Crystal Ball...

Hi Everyone

Today I have a card that I made with the Facebook Freebie from Simply Betty Stamps - thank you Betty!  There were actually 2 images available (one for free and the other for $1.00) and I chose 'Fortune Teller Betty'.  Check out the details here for how to get the image and join in the challenge.

For this image the challenge was to use rhinestones and crystal glaze.. The rhinestones you can see clearly, but the crystal glaze on the crystal ball of the image is hard to see because I placed acetate over the whole thing to represent the 'glass'.  Here are a couple of photos showing the light reflecting off the acetate.

This was such a fun image to colour and create with.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Until next time.

Drink Me If You Dare

Hi Everyone

I have a very quick post today for a project that I made for the Vampire and Skeleton Challenge being hosted between Simply Betty Stamps and The Stamping Chef.  I decided to use 'Bite Me' the image designed by Tamara of The Stamping Chef, she challenged us to use 'SPLATTER' on our projects. Here is mine.

Thought this would be a ghoulish addition to the celebrations on Halloween.

Betty from Simply Betty Stamps, also created a fun image for this challenge, but sadly I ran out of time to complete two projects.  All the entries in the challenge can be seen here.

Until next time.

Just to say....THANK YOU and SHARING IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING

Hi Everyone

Today I wanted to do a 'shout out' to a few artists who are more than generous with their artwork.  I want to mention 3 in particular, but I'm sure there are many more out there, I just have been fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of their generosity.

The owner of Simply Betty Stamps, Betty runs a 'Facebook Fan Page Challenge' each month and has previously given, or made a very small charge for one of her beautiful digital images.  Here is my card with her image 'Mercedes Witch'.

She was such fun to colour - thank you Betty.

This is a card that I made with a free image from The Stamping Chef - Tamara, (the artist) gives away a free image each week so that you can take part in the challenge on Facebook.

This was actually picked as the winning card, and so I got to pick another Stamping Chef Image from the store for free.  This is what I did with this weeks image.  Thank you Tamara.

Last but not least I want to give a 'shout out' to Sassy Studio Designs - Lindsay (the artist) gives out a free image (sometimes 3!!!) each month on Paper Craft Planet to take part in the monthly progressive challenge.  Here is the card I made as a member of the DT for this month.  Thank you Lindsay.

All that these artists ask is that you use the image to create a project (having fun while doing it!) post a picture of it and NOT GIVE AWAY THE IMAGE.  I think that is a small price to pay.  Thank you once again ladies for your generosity.

Until next time.
